Cosmic glaze

This weekend we went to a pottery fair in Dourdan. About twenty ceramists showcased their work in the old market hall, just in front of the castle, a temporary home (or prison) to many historical figures.
We bought two lovely vessels, by Lluis Soler.

His work makes me think about constellations and nebulas, drinking tea becomes an outer space adventure :)

Milly-la-Forêt

This weekend was a pottery fair at Milly-la-Forêt, the "capital" of medicinal and aromatic herbs and home to Jean Cocteau.

This market hall was built in the XV century!

Now, if I were richer, my cupboard would explode!

It's the pottery fair season! Here are some photos from Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, host to a big annual fair for all those working with clay, wood, glass, metal and textile.

Very delicate and neatly spray-painted porcelain by Cecilia De Bastiani:

Lovely glazes from Martine Mikaeloff

even silver glazed raku fired

Although stoneware, this bowl was light as paper. People made really funny faces of surprise when they took it in their hands.

And beautiful crystallizations by Alain Fichot:
