I love the way handwoven fabric brings out details in my ceramics. So here comes a big set of photos, with my plates posing on the wonderful textiles by Marie-Noel Giraudon from Atelier Tissage & Tradition (Chilly-Mazarin, France).

These photos are from the sales exhibition at the Atelier Tissage & Tradition. Marie-Noel, the weaver, makes the most wonderful shawls, tablecloths, bed spreads, hats and such, all handwoven in her workshop in Chilly-Mazarin, France.

Homespun

Yesterday I had the pleasure to visit the Atelier Tissage et tradition, situated in Chilly-Mazarin, and see their looms and the lovely handmade fabrics.

Threads of every kind, wool above and silk below.


Warping the loom can take up to several days, before one can start weaving future dish towels or blankets.

We couldn't resist and bought some magnificent towels to brighten up the table. But the atelier also produces table cloths, handbags, clothes and hats.
